That Girl

TV Land is showing some kind of "That Girl" marathon tonight. When we were little, my sister and I loved Ann Marie, her apartment in NYC and, most of all, her clothes. For the record, I prefer the Ann Marie with bangs and a bra, not the bangless, bra-less Ann Marie of later episodes. In the early shows, she wore adorable Courreges-like outfits, like this:




They were often accompanied by matching coats and I'm a sucker for matching coats. In later episodes, Ann gravitated to a hippie chic look and she grew out her bangs. Not as cute, in my opinion. Anyway, the spirit of Ann Marie lives on--at least the beehive, the flip, the bangs and the eyeliner do, in Jennifer Love Hewitt.
