Tree Falling in the Woods

So through a friend of a friend I was able to visit the House of Representatives floor today and listen to some of the speeches of the Republicans who were still protesting the recess of the House before a vote/discussion on the energy bill took place. All 4 of them. Kind of sad really- this was an issue the Republicans could have really rallied around and energized the base with, but most went home to deal with "constituent issues." (Fundraising). Hey guys and gals, I think your constituents want lower gas prices and a longterm energy plan that doesn't rely on the good graces of terrorist/authoritarian states.

Still, I was rather impressed by the grasp of the issues those who spoke had. Too bad it is mostly for naught.
