First an Oscar, now the Nobel Peace Prize

Al Gore:
THE Nobel Peace Prize committee today turned its sights on the battle against climate change by giving the 2007 award to former US vice president Al Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

...

The prize was awarded "for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change", the Norwegian Nobel committee said.

Why don't they just call it the Sanctimonious Swindler prize, after Al and his fellow Democrat, Jimmah Carter? There is a silver lining, though: Bill Clinton must be absolutely steaming.
