Now that Fred Thompson has entered the race

It's time to take a long, hard look at his record. I maintain that even the most devoted Fred fans must admit that Fred has nothing on Steven Hill when it comes to "Law & Order" DAs. Sure, Fred had a folksy appeal, but I for one had a hard time suspending my disbelief. It's almost unthinkable that Manhattanites would vote for a southern conservative for DA. But Steven Hill as Adam Schiff was a living, breathing New York pol. I enjoyed watching him walk the fine line between pleasing his constituents and running the DA's office.
