First it was the 16 words, now it's "staying the course." These rhetorical wars get so tiresome. (Best take: James Joyner.) These supposed gotcha moments won't end for Bush until he leaves office--see also "the Google".
But regardless of the outcome of the upcoming election, we can all take comfort in the fact that we'll be hearing a lot less of this sort of thing in general after November 7. Frankly, I don't know how many more times I can hear about this candidate or that being in the pocket of "special interests." There's a commercial by Michael Steele's opponent, Ben Cardin that's full of ominous talk about how Steele accepts money from the dreaded special interests. As far as I can gather, this amounts to Steele getting campaign contributions from the Republican party.
