Ennui and the emmys

I seem to have spent a ridiculous amount of time this morning trolling the internets for photos from the Emmy awards. Not that I really care about the Emmy awards, but it's often fun to see everyone decked out for the red carpet and Iran, Iraq, Hezbollah and the UN are really getting me down.

But fact is, the red carpet isn't much fun these days. Everyone, mostly, looks nice. But no one knocks your socks off. And the people who look lousy don't look lousy with any distinction.
