John Derbyshire on Karl Rove's meeting with La Raza:

It is shameful, shameful and disgraceful, that a senior adviser to our Republican President should be truckling and pandering to these Hispano-racists.

The racist ideology of La Raza gives ammunition to opponents of the administration's plan as La Raza embodies everything immigration reform opponents object to. Not, to my mind, a brilliant move on the part of the supposedly brilliant strategist, Rove. And I say this as someone who's inclined to support the administration's immigration policy.
