Calumnies against Israel continue

Following reports that Israel deliberately attacked UN peacekeepers come reports that Israel is using chemical weapons in Lebanon. As CS Scott points out, similar allegations were made against US forces in Iraq.

White phosphorus has a legitimate military application on the battlefield, used for illumination, smoke screens and flushing out well entrenched enemies with incendiary bombs. The compound itself is not a chemical weapon and its use is not prevented under any international treaties, despite the belief among some to the contrary.
