The administration's feeble response to the cartoon controversy

Christopher Hitchens rightly attacks the Bush department for this preposterous reaction to the Danish cartoons:
Anti-Muslim images are as unacceptable as anti-Semitic images, as anti-Christian images, or any other religious belief.
How about pointing out that in a free society we don't censor what people say? Or pointing out the offensive cartoons that appear daily in Arab state-run media?

And while we're at it: If you're so offended by a picture of Mohammed wearing a bomb as a turban, how about you stop bombing people in the name of Mohammed?

Just a thought.
