Tim Blair has a round up. It seems CNN was the first to report that 12 miners had made it out alive, without bothering to verify the news. It this some sort of bizarro reaction to the media reporting on Katrina, in which reporters breathlessly repeated unverified rumors of rape, murder, death and destruction that later turned out to be false?

Some things, however, remain the same: It's still Bush's fault.
