Horrors, movies and otherwise

Lorie Byrd lists her favorite horror movies and asks others to do likewise. I'll confine my list to ghost stories and leave the slasher, alien beings, vampire, demon and monster flicks to others.

Cat People: I saw this as a kid on the late, late show and it scared the crap out of me.

The Innocents: Is Deborah Kerr crazy, or is there a malignant spirit lurking?

The Others: Very low key, yet manages to retain its creepiness throughout.

The Sixth Sense: "I see dead people."

Let me also add two of the worst horror movies ever: Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, which provoked laughs rather than thrills. And Bram Stoker's Dracula, which also left me laughing.

More horrors:

Here's Kitty's list.

Ace examines vampires and their rules and powers.

Scare a Conservative at Halloween. Pretty scary.

Sissy Willis finds a scary human, though nowhere near as scary as this.
