Who knew?

Bahrain appoints a Jewish businesswoman to head human rights group.
About 30 Jews live in Bahrain where, as Bahraini citizens, they have full political, social and economic rights. Most of them are engaged in business and financial activities in different locations of the country.

The Jewish community began to settle in Bahrain in the early 1900s; most of its members were traders from Iraq, Iran and India looking for a peaceful place.

Despite the waves of anti-Israel protests since the creation of Israel in the Arab world, no Jewish business has ever been vandalised or destroyed and no shop sign was ever taken down or marred.
