Don't like the movie? Sue!

Sony to pay out $1.5 million to moviegoers who said they were mislead by the studio's practice of using quotes from a nonexistent critic to promote its movies.
Movie fans who saw classic offerings such as The Animal, about a man who is transplanted with animal organs, or A Knight's Tale, with Heath Ledger as a peasant boy aspiring to be a knight to the sounds of Queen's We Will Rock You, can now apply for a $5 (£2.80) refund for each cinema ticket they bought.

I missed those movies, but I did sit through half of Eyes Wide Shut before I couldn't take it any longer. Most boring orgy ever filmed. And I actually paid good money to see Heartbreakers with Sigourney Weaver and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Then there's Mondovino. I'd say somebody owes me a bundle.

Xan Brooks wonders: "[W]hy did Sony Pictures feel the need to invent a dumb reviewer to big-up their movies? The woods are full of them already."
