Green revolution

More people are standing up to terrorists, this time in Northern Ireland.

David Durant, the Heretical Librarian points to this article about a Belfast neighborhood that's becoming fed up with the IRA, whose thugs brutally murdered Robert McCartney in a barroom brawl and then proceeded to erase the evidence of the crime and threaten witnesses against speaking out.

The residents of the Short Strand, led by Robert McCartney's five sisters, are surely doing their part in the global war on terror by insisting on bringing these murderers to account, just like the Lebanese who forced out the Syrian-led government or the Iraqis who braved death by the so-called insurgents in order to vote.

I'm not suggesting that George W. Bush has anything to do with this incident but I would point out to those who poo-poo the administration's condemnation of Hezbollah as a neocon scare tactic that these groups don't exist in a vacuum. Check out this report from the state department. Here's who the IRA hangs out with:
In the past, has received aid from a variety of groups and countries and considerable training and arms from Libya and the PLO. Is suspected of receiving funds, arms, and other terrorist-related materiel from sympathizers in the United States. Similarities in operations suggest links to ETA and the FARC. In August 2002, three suspected IRA members were arrested in Colombia on charges of assisting the FARC to improve its explosives capabilities.
